The People Operations Consultant will ensure to maintain and support our People strategies, policies and initiatives to support our employees across Africa. This is a 6 months contract, covering for a maternity leave, with a reporting line to our Director of People. You will play the following critical roles at AMI:
HR Operations and Compliance
- Ensure legal compliance and best practices across all operational markets
- Ensure completion, continuous improvement and documentation regarding all our HR policies
- Own end-to-end People Ops processes, enhancing efficiency and consistency:
- Contracts
- Payroll & consultants’ payments
- Health & Security
- Leaves
- Compensation & benefits
- Onboarding
- Maintain and continuously update our HRIS (Workpay), ensuring all HR data remains accurate and up to date at all times.
- Work closely with local People Ops representatives, including Country Managers, to address market-specific needs
- Coordinate with our legal counsels as needed.
Employee relations
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Address employee concerns and mediate conflicts as needed.
- Organize company events and initiatives that promote team building and engagement

- 8+ years of experience in HR Generalist or People Operations roles, including time in a managerial capacity, ideally within African markets. You bring strong expertise in local people operations or global HR, with proven depth in labor law and legal compliance across African jurisdictions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource with a current membership in IHRM.
