Who We Are: Banza reimagines your favorite comfort foods, like pasta, pizza, mac & cheese, and waffles, using chickpeas. Why? Because we know chickpeas aren’t just delicious, they’re also one of the most nutritious and sustainable foods. Yet 80% of the country isn’t eating enough of them. Our mission is to inspire people to eat more chickpeas and other beans, making a positive impact on human health and the environment. We’ve been named one of TIME Magazine’s Best Inventions of the Year, Adweek’s Best Food Brand, and are proud to have fans at Good Morning America, The New York Times, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit, and more.
Your Mission: We are looking for a detail-oriented People Operations Associate who will serve as the backbone of our employee and candidate experiences, office operations, and People systems. In this role, you'll create memorable moments that bring our team together, perform basic recruiting tasks, ensure our office runs smoothly, and maintain the data integrity and optimization of our People operations systems. You'll be the organizational force that keeps our People function running seamlessly, from ensuring accurate employee records to streamlining workflows. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to grow into a People generalist role, with hands-on exposure to HR operations, talent acquisition, and culture-building at a fast-growing company. This role reports to the VP of People.
What You’ll Do:
- Own the day-to-day operations of our NYC office, ensuring a welcoming, organized, and functional workspace for the team
- Design and execute employee experience initiatives, including onboarding experiences, team events, celebrations, and quarterly gatherings that strengthen our culture
- Manage vendor relationships for office services, supplies, catering, and event planning
- Support People operations throughout the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and maintaining accurate records
- Assist with talent acquisition efforts, including scheduling interviews, coordinating candidate experiences, and supporting recruitment processes, eventually recruiting for roles on your own
- Maintain and improve People-related systems, tools, and documentation to keep us organized and compliant
- Serve as a welcoming first point of contact for team member questions and office visitors
- Partner with the VP of People to research and implement best practices for employee engagement, benefits, and workplace programs
Who You Are:
- A highly organized professional with 2-4 years of experience in office management, HR, recruiting, operations, or a related role
- Exceptionally detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and anticipate needs before they arise
- Professionally mature with impeccable discretion and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity
- A natural relationship-builder who creates warm, inclusive experiences for diverse teams
- Proactive and resourceful, with a solutions-oriented mindset
- Eager to develop your career in People Operations, HR, and talent acquisition
- Excited about creating a workplace where people love to come to work
- Passionate about what Banza's doing!
