Duties & Responsibilities

Employee Engagement Initiatives:

  • Support implementation of HR strategies and initiatives in the business units and regions.
  • Plan and execute employee engagement activities to foster a positive work culture.

Employee Relations:

  • Address employee concerns, investigate issues, mediate disputes, and provide guidance to managers on employee relations matters.
  • Facilitate employee consultations on various HR matters.

Recruitment and Onboarding:

  • Coordinate full-cycle recruitment processes for all colleagues, and conduct preliminary interviews for level 3 downwards.
  • Facilitate onboarding and orientation of new employees.
  • Manage exit interviews and offboarding processes.

Employment Equity:

  • Support training and development initiatives.
  • Attend and contribute meaningfully to the EE & Skills Development committee meetings.
  • Compile and submit Employment Equity Reports to the Department of Labour.

Performance Management:

  • Assist with performance management processes, including collation of performance ratings from the business.

Compliance & Risk:

  • Ensure adherence to all applicable employment laws, including regulations, regarding hiring, termination, leave management, and discrimination.
  • Monitor compliance with employment legislation.
  • Identify and report HR-related risks.
  • Generate regular reports as required.


Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Proven experience in a broad range of HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in HR management systems (HRIS)
  • 3-5 years People & Culture Support Partner experience.
  • Knowledge of South African employment legislation (LRA, BCEA, EEA, SDA)
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in HR systems.
  • Experience in a service, retail industry or labour-intensive environment.
  • Leadership and management experience, with particular emphasis in dealing with diverse teams.
  • Leadership and coaching skills to guide managers on HR best practices.
  • Able to manage multiple business units.
