We have offices in Bendigo and Shepparton and work with people in regional and rural Victoria who experience disadvantage relating to their housing, family, relationship, consumer, economic, social and civil rights.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced People and Culture Lead to oversee our HR functions as a standalone practitioner reporting directly to the Director of Operations.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on, end-to-end generalist role ideal for someone who thrives on autonomy and variety. You will partner closely with the Director of Operations and the management team to deliver practical, timely HR support while helping to shape the systems, processes and culture that underpin our organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management and offboarding.
- Provide expert, practical advice on employee relations, workplace behaviour and enterprise agreement/legislative compliance.
- Maintain and enhance HR policies, procedures and documentation.
- Oversee HR systems, records management and reporting.
- Support leaders with workforce planning, capability development and change initiatives.
- Coordinate health and safety processes and compliance requirements.
- Champion a positive, inclusive and supportive workplace culture.
- Work closely with the Director of Operations to provide strategic insights and operational HR support.
About You
You are a confident, capable HR generalist who enjoys working independently while building strong, trusted relationships across the organisation. You will bring:
- Demonstrated significant experience in a broad generalist HR role.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, awards, enterprise agreements and HR best practice.
- Proven capability in employee relations, performance management and policy development.
- Excellent communication, relationship building and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive, collaborative approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related field.
