HR Leadership & Strategy

Job Summary

HR Director develops and implements strategic HR plans, creates and enforces company-wide policies, oversees recruitment and retention, and ensures compliance with labor laws and regulations. This senior level role aligns human capital strategies with organizational goals, manages the HR department's budget and staff, and provides expert guidance to leadership on talent management, compensation, and employee relations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with executive and senior leadership to integrate human capital strategies with overall business strategies.
  • Develop and execute HR strategies that support the company's short- and long-term business objectives.
  • Provide guidance and support to Sr. Team, managers and employees on HR-related matters, including but not limited to recruitment and selection, performance management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Conduct employee investigations to determine appropriate Company response and to ensure investigation outcomes are fair, equitable, and compliant with company policy and state/federal employment laws.
  • Facilitate and administer various employee relations matters such as performance management meetings, counseling, grievances, advancement, leaves of absences, accommodations and exit interviews.
  • Manage the onboarding process for new hires, including creating onboarding plans and conducting orientation sessions.
  • Conduct compensation assessments and consult with leadership in support of equity adjustments, promotions, leveling, offers and incentives.
  • Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of direct reports relating to employment, compensation, labor relations, and employee relations.
  • Lead efforts in succession planning and talent acquisition.
  • Perform diverse assignments, make recommendations, and communicate to management/employees covering a wide range of HR functions including employee relations, compensation, benefits, employment, training, recruitment, performance management, worker's compensation, and AAP/EEO.
  • Counsel and coach employees and managers in addressing interpersonal and behavioral challenges.
  • Conduct training sessions on various subject areas, such as performance management, sexual harassment, and ethics.

Qualifications

  • Ability to exercise good judgement and good decision making on sensitive issues that are within broadly defined practices and policies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of various benefit programs that are available.
  • Ability to determine the direct costs of various benefit plans to the Company and be able to make comparisons with other plans and offer appropriate recommendations to senior Management.
  • Knowledge and understanding of various state and federal laws.
  • Excellent knowledge of outside compensation for positions throughout the Company to keep the Company wages competitive.
  • Requires an in-depth knowledge of company practices, structures, and policies.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Bilingual Spanish

Education/Previous Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 10+ years experience in a manufacturing environment
