Our client is a philanthropic and investment organization dedicated to making a difference in the community. They are seeking a Manager, People & Culture to lead in a supportive environment that values collaboration and growth. This role is pivotal in shaping the people strategy and driving initiatives that matter.

As a key member of a small, lean HR team, the successful candidate will work closely with a compassionate leader who prioritizes empathy, accountability, and teamwork. This position offers the opportunity to influence the organization's culture while navigating exciting changes.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Partnership & Employee Support
• Act as the primary People & Culture partner to leaders, providing practical guidance on performance management and employee relations.
• Build strong relationships to understand and support business needs, addressing employee matters with sensitivity and care.
• Lead end-to-end recruitment efforts, ensuring a consistent and high-quality experience for candidates and hiring managers.
• Collaborate with leaders on role definition and hiring strategies to attract top talent.
• Own the onboarding, offboarding, promotions, and transfers, ensuring smooth transitions throughout the employee lifecycle.
• Maintain accurate employee records and ensure consistent application of policies and processes.
• HR Systems & Process Optimization
• Support and enhance HR systems, including Workday, driving process improvements for efficiency and scalability.
• Identify and implement enhancements to workflows and tools to streamline operations.
• Provide direction and mentorship to a Coordinator, fostering their development and ensuring effective execution of HR operations.
• Oversee payroll administration and ensure quality delivery of team outputs.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of progressive People & Culture / HR experience.
• Strong experience in HR operations, recruitment, and employee lifecycle management.
• Proven ability to partner with leaders and provide practical HR guidance.
• Workday experience is highly preferred; familiarity with modules is an asset.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary $130,000 – $155,000
• Bonus 15% Short-Term Incentive Plan (STIP)
• ESOP Eligible from Day 1 
• Pension 2% contribution with 2% company match (after 1 year)
• Health Benefits Fully funded option available through Manulife — Day 1 eligibility
• Summer Fridays Off at 1 PM every Friday
• Hybrid Schedule Monday–Thursday onsite (Yonge & St. Clair), Fridays flexible
• Hours 9 AM – 5 PM
