About the Role

We’re looking for someone who’s excited to build strong people systems deeply rooted in Saajha’s culture. As a People and Culture Manager, you’ll anchor core HR processes and work closely with teams across to strengthen hiring, onboarding, performance, and culture. This is a role for someone who enjoys making systems that make people feel supported - someone who can hold the operational threads, coordinate across teams, and bring ownership to everything they do.

Core Responsibilities: We envision a 2-3 year trajectory for the team members, towards leading all People and Culture initiatives in the organisation, where the person is able to take increased responsibility towards organisation building, and learning and development efforts.

In the first year, the team member will be responsible for : 

  1. Finding the Right People : Build a differentiated strategy for hiring across roles and functions. Work closely with Hiring Managers to recruit, select and onboard new team members. 

  • Managing the ATS : Zoho Recruit

  • Supporting Hiring Managers : Sourcing candidates, Selection, Salary negotiations

  1. Building Role Readiness : Anchoring the induction and onboarding process with Reporting Managers, to build culture and role readiness with new team members.

  • Coordinating the Organisation Orientation with the Leadership Team

  • Leading the Governance Orientation

  • Thought partnering with the Reporting Manager on the Onboarding plan


  1. Strengthening People Systems : Anchor HR processes and systems with the Governance Head (Hiring compliances, Appraisal Mechanism, Exits, Policy compliances, Documentation etc)

  • Hiring Compliances : Coordinating Hiring checklists, Approving Contracts, 

  • Appraisal Mechanism : Working with the Finance Head to build the Annual Appraisal Matrix, Anchor the Performance Review process

  • Policy Compliances : Working on completing POSH and CPP compliances with the respective committees, strengthening org capacity for both policies

  • Documentation : Drafting concept notes for HR initiatives, anchoring 

  • Exits : Anchoring the exit process, interviews, handover, coordinating with Finance for FnF


  1. Supporting Admin Team

  • Will be the Reporting Manager for the Admin person - support their growth


Year 2 onwards, the scope of responsibilities increase to : 

  1. Setting up Systems towards Org Impact : Anchoring the process of planning with Function Heads and OKR setting for the organisation. To build impactful systems for reflection and review.

  • Facilitating spaces for Org and Function Strategy 

  • Anchoring the OKR setting process (creating guidelines, templates, thought partnering with team members)

  • Anchoring the Quarterly Reflection process - creating guidelines, shadowing conversations, supporting people managers

  • Anchoring the Performance Review process


6. Anchoring Culture with the team : While culture building is every person's responsibility, anchoring culture and culture initiatives also need to be intentionally worked upon. As you grow in the role, you will be closely working with the Founder and Leadership team to hold this responsibility - identify rituals, initiatives that deepen and sustain the culture of the team

Requirements

The person should have around 2-3 years of experience (ideally in People and Culture building  or  HR roles)

People Management : The person will be working cross functionally for core HR functions and projects, and will need prior experience managing people (either directly or in projects) and should be able to effectively work cross functionally.

Self Starter : We are a growing organisation and will need a person who is high on ownership and a self starter, who is excited to seek answers to challenges and work in uncertain circumstances.

Basic understanding of HR Compliances : The person will be anchoring core HR functions and compliances, and therefore a working knowledge of HR processes will be important.

Compensation : Between 5.4-6 LPA (negotiable for the right candidate)
