Job Overview

Orbit Global HR Consultants, a leading interior design and recruitment agency in Delhi NCR, is hiring an experienced Project Head – Interior Fit-Out for a growing organization in the interior contracting and construction industry.

This is a senior project leadership position for an experienced professional who can take complete ownership of multiple interior fit-out projects across India—from project mobilization and planning through execution, quality control, commercial management and final handover.

The ideal candidate should have 10+ years of experience in interior fit-out, turnkey interiors, hospitality/hotel interiors, commercial projects, residential interiors or construction, with proven experience managing multiple projects, project teams, subcontractors, vendors and client relationships.

We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Project Head who can ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards, while maintaining profitability and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Execution

  • Take overall responsibility for multiple interior fit-out projects from mobilization to final handover.
  • Develop project execution strategies, schedules, resource plans and delivery milestones.
  • Ensure projects are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, timelines and quality standards.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of critical activities.
  • Review project performance and implement corrective actions wherever required.
  • Identify project risks, delays, resource constraints and execution challenges and develop appropriate solutions.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and manage Project Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, Site Teams and execution personnel.
  • Establish clear responsibilities, accountability and performance expectations across project teams.
  • Build strong project teams and ensure effective coordination between site and corporate functions.
  • Conduct regular project review meetings and monitor team performance.
  • Provide technical and managerial guidance to project teams.

Client & Consultant Management

  • Manage relationships with clients, architects, consultants, PMC teams and other project stakeholders.
  • Attend project review and coordination meetings.
  • Understand client requirements and ensure timely resolution of project issues.
  • Manage approvals, inspections, variations and project-related communications.
  • Maintain high levels of client satisfaction and professional project delivery.

Commercial & Cost Management

  • Monitor project budgets, costs and overall profitability.
  • Ensure effective control of wastage, rework, material losses and project overruns.
  • Coordinate with commercial and quantity surveying teams regarding BOQs, costing, billing and variations.
  • Review additional works, variations and extra-item claims.
  • Identify potential commercial risks and take timely corrective action.
  • Ensure projects are delivered within approved financial parameters.

Procurement & Material Coordination

  • Coordinate with procurement teams for timely availability of materials and resources.
  • Review project material requirements and procurement schedules.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure materials are available at site as per project schedules.
  • Monitor material consumption, wastage and quality.

Subcontractor & Vendor Management

  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors, contractors and vendors across multiple projects.
  • Evaluate execution performance and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Ensure proper manpower deployment and work sequencing.
  • Resolve subcontractor-related execution and commercial issues.
  • Maintain accountability for project deliverables.

Quality & MEP Coordination

  • Ensure high standards of interior workmanship, finishing and quality.
  • Coordinate with MEP, civil, electrical, HVAC, fire-fighting and other specialist teams.
  • Monitor quality inspections and ensure timely closure of snags and defects.
  • Ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
  • Drive continuous improvement in execution quality.

Management Reporting

  • Conduct regular project performance reviews.
  • Prepare management reports covering project progress, cost, quality, manpower, risks and profitability.
  • Provide senior management with updates on project status and critical issues.
  • Escalate delays and commercial or operational risks in a timely manner.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should have:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in interior fit-out, turnkey interiors, construction or related industries.
  • Strong experience managing multiple interior projects simultaneously.
  • Proven experience in hospitality / hotel interior projects is highly preferred.
  • Strong exposure to commercial, residential and high-end interior fit-out projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage Project Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, Site Teams and Subcontractors.
  • Strong project planning, execution and delivery capabilities.
  • Good understanding of BOQ, costing, estimation, billing, variations and commercial control.
  • Strong client, consultant and PMC management skills.
  • Experience in procurement and material planning coordination.
  • Strong subcontractor and vendor management skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage pressure, deadlines and multiple projects across locations.
  • Willingness to travel across India as required.

Educational Qualification

Candidates should preferably possess:

  • B.Arch
  • B.Tech / B.E.
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering
  • Diploma / Degree in Interior Design
  • Construction Management or equivalent qualification
