Description

The Talent Development Lead is responsible for leading a team of Trainers while also contributing directly to the design, development, and delivery of training programs that support employee capability, operational readiness, and performance across Delta Dental. This role provides day-to-day people leadership, including coaching, performance support, scheduling, and quality oversight, and ensures the team consistently delivers effective, engaging learning experiences across live, virtual, and digital formats. Working closely with People Organization, operational leaders, and subject matter experts, the Talent Development Lead helps assess learning needs, maintain training materials, execute training programs, and support continuous improvement of enterprise learning experiences.



Responsibilities
  • Leads, coaches, and develops a team of trainers and instructional designers
  • Oversees the design, development, and maintenance of instructor-led, virtual, and digital learning content
  • Observes facilitation and instructional design work and provides structured developmental feedback
  • Manages team workloads, schedules, onboarding, and day-to-day work planning
  • Oversees training delivery and models effective facilitation and learner engagement practices
  • Owns assigned curricula or program areas and ensures ongoing relevance and effectiveness
  • Partners with subject matter experts to validate content accuracy and learning outcomes
  • Analyzes learner feedback and performance data to drive continuous improvement
  • Uses learning platforms to monitor participation, completion, and quality metrics
  • Supports cross-functional talent development initiatives and operational priorities


Qualifications
  • 8+ years w/Bachelor’s degree; 1+ years supervisory/management 
  • Additional experience may be accepted in lieu of education or degree
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, Project Management or a related field.
  • Experience in project management, or related roles, with a focus on driving cross-functional initiatives and systems. 
  • Experience supporting training in operational, customer service, or high volume environments
  • Strong facilitation skills for both ILT and VILT
  • Proficient instructional design and curriculum development skills
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and learner engagement strategies
  • Ability to coach, lead, and develop training talent
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organization, planning, and time management abilities
  • Comfort working with virtual platforms and learning systems
  • Familiarity with learning measurement and evaluation fundamentals


Licenses
• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI. Upon Hire Preferred.

Base Pay Information

The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity. 
Pay Grade 21. $81,305 - $176,043
