Human Resources Director

Come join the team at HCI Sports & Fitness! As a premier sports and fitness center in Bee Cave, our team is in search of an experienced, team-oriented Human Resources Director who can coach, advise, and deliver HR solutions while building strong relationships across the business. 

As a key member of the leadership team at HCI, the Human Resources Director serves as a trusted HR partner and is responsible for leading and guiding all facets of human resources, including benefits administration, employee relations, recruitment and onboarding, handbook and policy updates, employee engagement, compliance, and much more!

What you’ll do:

• Serve as an advisor across the organization, providing coaching and support on people matters such as performance, development, engagement, and team effectiveness
• Provide counsel on conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, employment decisions, and sensitive employee matters ensuring fairness, consistency, and compliance
• Mentor and provide ongoing training opportunities within leadership teams to support professional growth and development
• Partner with leaders to anticipate hiring needs and implement onboarding practices that help attract and retain talent
• Create and implement policies and procedures to support company objectives and meet employee needs
• Promote a positive employee experience by fostering a culture of accountability, feedback, and belonging
• Ensure HR systems and practices reflect current legal requirements and best practices
• Develop and oversee engagement strategies that enhance employee satisfaction, productivity, and retention
• Various other duties as needed or assigned

To be a great fit, you’ll have:

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience with at least 3 years in an HR Director, HR Business Partner, or equivalent HR leadership role
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management preferred
• HR Certification (SHRM or PHR)
• Strong track record in employee relations, performance coaching, and navigating complex employee relations issues
• Demonstrated ability to partner with and support employees and leaders at all levels
• Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with excellent judgment and discretion
• Strong understanding of employment law and HR compliance requirements
• Exceptional interpersonal and professional communication skills: approachable with strong consulting and facilitation abilities
• Advanced computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook along with the ability to learn new software systems
• A motivation for success with high expectations for the quality of your own work; an independent leader who takes initiative to find solutions
• Availability for full-time, onsite employment with flexibility to work during events and programs that take place at various times of the day, including weekdays, weekends, and evenings
• A passion for sports and fitness or health and wellness is preferred!
