HR Leadership & Strategy

JOB SUMMARY

The Human Resources Director is responsible for creating and implementing the HR strategy, at the direction and oversight of the Board of Managers and CAO. This position manages all HR functions including employee relations, onboarding/offboarding, benefits, compensation, training and development, performance management, workplace safety, and HR compliance. This position additionally oversees provider licensure and certification compliance.

The Human Resources Director works to create and retain an engaged workforce, and to mitigate risk for the organization. 

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

Days: Monday - Friday

Hours: 40 per week

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Ø  Create HR strategy aligned with organizational goals and objectives.

Ø  Develop and implement HR policies, programs, processes, and initiatives to support the organization’s HR strategy and employee engagement.

Ø  Oversee the administration of all HR programs; establish communication and workplace tools to educate employees about all programs.

Ø  Provide guidance to leaders on employee issues, disciplinary matters, concerns with morale, or other workplace matters.

Ø  Provide oversight and handle all disciplinary action and involuntary terminations.  

Ø  Serve as employee advocate, providing welcome place for employees to express concerns, ask questions, or obtain help with other HR-related matters.

Ø  Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts. Conduct employee investigations as needed with a focus on mitigating risk for the organization.

Ø  Manage, support, and train staff; hold team members accountable for meeting expectations.

Ø  Develop and administer competitive compensation and benefits programs.

Ø  Maintain required steps and process for FMLA and other leaves of absence.

Ø  Develop and update HR policies and Employee Handbook.

Ø  Develop HR leadership and other training initiatives to ensure a well-trained workforce.

Ø  Develop retention strategies to attract and retain a high performing workforce.

Ø  Ensure effective utilization and data integrity of HRIS.

Ø Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, talent management, and employment laws. Present recommendations for improvement to  management.

Ø  Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.

Ø  Organize and facilitate annual benefits open enrollment.

Ø  Maintain solid payroll practices and processes, which are in compliance with payroll and employment laws. Review and approve bi-weekly payroll.

Ø  Attend Board meetings to share HR updates.

Ø  Plan and oversee annual HR audits.

Ø  Work closely with physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) to address HR-related concerns, ensuring alignment with practice policies.

Ø  Oversee provider credentialing to ensure a smooth transition to employment.

Ø  Develop strategies to recruit, onboard, and retain non-clinical staff, addressing staffing shortages in a competitive healthcare market.

Ø  Implement programs to support physician and staff well-being, including stress management, resilience training, and mental health initiatives.

Ø  Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and other healthcare safety regulations; coordinate training and safety audits.

Ø  Develop structured performance review processes.

Ø  Leverage HR metrics to drive decision-making, such as turnover rates, employee engagement, and staffing efficiency.

Ø  Work with leadership to develop HR protocols for staffing and employee support during public health emergencies, natural disasters, or pandemics.
