The Role

We're hiring a Director of Human Resources to lead HR across the US. This is a hands-on leadership role supporting senior stakeholders while building and scaling HR in a high-growth, delivery-focused business.

You'll partner directly with Staffing, Client Services, and Sales to support a distributed workforce across multiple markets and large-scale programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the senior HR partner to US leadership
  • Lead employee relations, compliance, and performance management
  • Build and refine scalable HR processes in a high-volume environment
  • Oversee onboarding, payroll operations, and workforce administration
  • Own and continuously improve Employer of Record (EOR) services, ensuring they are scalable, compliant, and commercially viable
  • Oversee benefits administration, including vendor management, renewals, and employee experience
  • Partner closely with Finance and Payroll to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and alignment
  • Support workforce planning for large-scale programs and activations
  • Coach managers and drive leadership accountability
  • Identify and mitigate employment risk across multi-state and cross-border operations, particularly around wage and hour compliance

Requirements (Must-Have)

  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership at a Manager/Director level
  • Strong working knowledge of US employment law, including wage and hour compliance
  • Proven ownership of multi-state HR operations across the US
  • Experience supporting HR operations in both the US and Canada
  • Experience supporting high-volume or operational workforces (staffing, retail, hospitality, events, or similar)
  • Proven ability to operate in unstructured environments and build processes from the ground up
  • Experience handling complex employee relations issues independently
  • Comfortable partnering directly with senior leadership and making challenging decisions when needed
  • Willingness to be hands-on and step into operational details when required

Nice to Have

  • Experience in staffing agencies or EOR environments
  • Exposure to multi-state compliance, including California
  • Experience supporting large-scale or event-based workforces

  • You anticipate problems before they impact the business and take action early
