Description

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Director for Heartland Label Printers, LLC serves as a coach, partner, and key member of the leadership team, collaborating with leaders to drive talent development and foster a positive workplace culture for our team members. This role is responsible for managing HR strategy, benefits, compensation, payroll, employee relations, recruitment, talent development, legal and safety while leading and coaching a team that supports approximately 200 manufacturing local and remote office staff members across multiple states including three physical locations..

The Human Resources Director reports directly to the President of Heartland Label Printers, LLC and sits on the company’s leadership team. 


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Execute HR Strategies: Align HR initiatives with business goals, focusing on workforce planning, talent acquisition, and organizational development to support sales, admin and manufacturing team members.
  • Partner with Senior Leadership: Collaborate with leadership team to drive workforce planning, team member relations and development, performance management, and change management initiatives.
  • Oversee Benefits & Compensation: Design and administer compliant compensation structures and benefits programs to attract and retain talent.
  • Champion Company Culture: Drive initiatives around engagement and inclusion. Measure and manage actions to drive improvements to team member engagement and satisfaction. Promote company’s core values through practice and initiatives that drive results.
  • Lead Efforts to Attract Talent: Develop robust recruitment strategy and oversee end-to-end recruitment process.  
  • Enhance Team Effectiveness: Develop and manage performance management process. Develop, assist in development, and/or implement appropriate training to enhance team development.
  • Enhance Employee Relations and Compliance: Foster a positive workplace by managing team member relations, ensuring labor law compliance, and reporting, and implementing policies that support engagement and retention. Support EHS programs and initiatives. Provide guidance and support to HR team and business leaders to ensure consistent and equitable HR practices.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement in HR and Payroll Processes: Utilize data and HR metrics to improve efficiency and effectiveness of processes. Ensure payroll functions are managed accurately and efficiently.  
  • Oversee Legal needs of the organization: Manage process to review legal documents as required for the Company. Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team and/or the President on areas of concern. Engage outside legal counsel as needed.

Requirements

Required Experience: 

  • 8 plus years of experience in Human Resources, in a growing organization.
  • 2 plus years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in Human Resources 

Preferred Experience: 

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production setting

Required Skills, Education and/ or Certifications required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organization Development, Business, or related field 
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and/or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP).  
  • Must be proficient in the use of a PC, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). 

Preferred Skills, Education and/or Certification: 

  • Experience in Safety and/or OSHA regulations.
