About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on and strategic HR Director to establish and lead the HR function in our fast-growing startup environment. This is a rare opportunity to build HR practices from the ground up—covering everything from labor compliance and HR operations to organizational development and cultural transformation. This role is primarily focused on HR Business Partnering—partnering closely with senior leadership and business units to align people strategy with organizational goals. You will act as both a strategic advisor and an executional lead, creating scalable people systems that enable business growth. The reporting line will be to the Head of Finance & Accounting, who currently oversees corporate and back-office functions, while also serving as a direct advisor to the CEO. In addition, this position will lead a small HR team.

このポジションは主に HRビジネスパートナー としての役割にフォーカスしており、シニアリーダーシップや事業部門と密接に連携し、人事戦略を組織の目標に結びつけて推進していただきます。戦略的なアドバイザーであると同時に、実行リーダーとして、事業成長を支えるスケーラブルな人事システムを構築していただきます。
レポートラインは、現在コーポレートおよびバックオフィス機能を管掌している財務・経理部長となりながら、CEO直下で意見の交流していただくポジションで、また小規模の人事チームをリードしていただきます。
Key Responsibilities/業務内容
- Build and lead the HR function, designing core HR policies, frameworks, and processes from scratch.
- Act as a trusted HR Business Partner to the leadership team, supporting workforce planning, performance management, and talent strategy.
- Ensure compliance with Japanese labor laws and employment regulations while balancing flexibility required in a startup environment.
- Oversee HR operations including payroll, attendance, and employee relations in collaboration with vendors and internal teams.
- Shape company culture, employee engagement, and values to foster a high-performance and inclusive environment.
- Provide coaching and advisory support to managers and employees on HR matters.
- Partner with leadership to design compensation, benefits, and evaluation systems suited for growth-stage companies.
- Lead HR projects such as policy creation, HRIS/system implementation, and organizational change management.
- Support recruitment strategies when needed, though this is not the core focus of the role.

- ポリシー策定、HRIS/システム導入、組織変革マネジメントなど人事プロジェクトの推進する
- 必要に応じて採用戦略をサポート

Qualifications - must to have/必須条件
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in an HRBP or leadership capacity with 3+ years in people management role Strong knowledge of Japanese labor law, employment practices, and HR compliance.
- Proven ability to design and implement HR frameworks, policies, and processes in a growing organization and advising and coaching senior leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to design and execute HR strategies that support business growth and transformation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and strong problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to balance strategic and hands-on work.
- Able to adept the face-pace startup environmentBusiness-level proficiency in Japanese (native preferred) and English (written and spoken).
- 人事領域での 10年以上の経験、うち少なくとも5年以上はHRBPまたはリーダーシップポジション、3年以上のチームマネジメント経験
- 日本の労働法、雇用慣行、労務コンプライアンスに関する深い知識
- 成長企業において、人事フレームワーク・ポリシー・プロセスを設計・実装した実績、ならびに経営陣へのアドバイス・コーチング経験
- 事業成長や変革を支えるHR戦略を立案・実行した実績
- 優れたコミュニケーション能力と対人スキルと問題解決力と高い組織運営スキルを備え、戦略的視点と実務的対応をバランスよく実行できる力
- 急成長するスタートアップ環境に柔軟に適応できる能力
- 日本語ビジネスレベル（ネイティブ歓迎）、英語ビジネスレベル（読み書き・会話）

Employment Terms/雇用条件
- Contract Term: Permanent
- Probation Period: 3 months (may be extended up to 6 months)
- Work Location: Headquarters office – Heiwajima, Ota-ku, Tokyo(May be subject to change to another location designated by the company)
- Working Hours: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM (8 working hours/day with a 1-hour break)
- Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays (including year-end and New Year holidays)
- Salary: Annual salary basis (approx. JPY 10M and above, depending on experience)
- Office/remote: Hybrid
