Your Role 

The People & Engagement HR:Connect team is a critical part of Human Resources service delivery for all of Blue Shield of California (BSC). The HR Analyst, Experienced will report to the Sr. Manager, HR:Connect. In this role you will be supporting the HR:Connect team, which provides Tier 1 HR support for all employees. You will be managing employee cases with an emphasis on supporting escalations for complex cases, maintaining and improving existing resources, analyzing service data, supporting team training, and supporting strategic team projects.

Responsibilities

Your Work 

In this role, you will: 

  • Manage and execute sensitive and complex operational processes and data audits. Will include operational processes and HRIS system transactions.

  • Act as owner of various HR programs and process (e.g., Terminations, Sanction Checks and Life Claims) and provide input and guidance to other HR team members as it relates to the programs or processes.

  • Evaluate and recommend needed changes or enhancements in company / HR programs/ policies by identifying gaps, recommending, and implementing solutions.

  • Be Responsible for policy maintenance, documentation, and workflow creation.

  • Will act as back up support on phone and chat during peak seasons or on an as-needed basis. 

  • Consult and coach the HR Specialists for escalated HR cases/calls. This will include participating in onboarding training for new specialists. 

  • Act as an escalation path to handle more complex cases and situations or to direct specialist response to such cases as appropriate.

  • Support the team roadmap and other projects by participating in the project development, eliciting the business requirements, and supporting stakeholder analyses. Support change management plans and deployment. Act as subject matter expert in owned processes and programs.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Your Knowledge and Experience 

  • Requires a college degree and a minimum of 3 years of prior HR-related experience in an HR role (or 5 years of HR Generalist experience) 
  • Requires advanced knowledge of HR obtained through advanced education combined with experience. 
  • Requires practical knowledge of project management (experience driving operational improvement projects preferred) 
  • Requires experience developing and maintaining operational procedural and knowledge documentation (experience with process creation and ownership preferred)
  • Requires demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Requires experience processing HR data and creating reports to analyze trends and key takeaways 
  • Requires experience leading training activities for new team members
