A place of real legacy of family ownership since 1945 and was converted 40 years ago.  Set on rolling contour on the outskirts of Putāruru, this is a well-established 110 ha effective dairy platform of 320 peak crossbred cows through a straightforward spring-calving, twice-a-day system in a 24 a-side-herringbone cowshed.

The farm is tracking toward a target of 120,000 kgMS for the 2025/26 season.  With a practical, low-input approach - this farm has potential to raise the performance benchmark by demonstrating that a predominantly grass-based system can consistently deliver higher output without increasing inputs

The role

This is a role for a Contract Milker who takes true ownership — of results, people, presentation, and day-to-day rhythm. You’ll be the kind of operator who runs a smooth ship, keeps standards high, and can confidently partner with the owners to deliver a strong results each season.

Key parts of the role include:

• leading the daily operation (planning, prioritising, executing, and following through)
• keeping animal health and stock performance front and centre
• maintaining a tidy, well-run shed and farm presentation
• managing the seasonal workload (calving, mating, young stock, and wintering coordination)

This opportunity could also suit a working couple who want to both be hands-on in the business and share responsibility for day-to-day operations. A well-set-up property and flexible on-farm infrastructure, it’s an ideal platform for a couple who value teamwork and running a tight operation together.
