DS creates systems that power the next generation of radio spectrum intelligence. We collect radio data from all over the world, train neural networks to decipher it, and run them on the smallest chips we can. We’re solving a new, technically hard problem where nothing from other fields works out of the box, and along the way, we’ve built our own stack from scratch, including entirely new embedding model architectures, custom GPU kernels, and much more.
This year we’ve done 8-figure revenue, tripled our headcount, and raised a $25M Series A led by Sarah Guo (Conviction), Akhil Iyer (Shield Capital), and Nat Friedman (NFDG). We’re using it to invest in new research and to grow our small, New York-based team across engineering, research, and product.
Joining DS means owning major parts of a fast-growing AI research organization, joining a collaborative, talent-dense team with decades of experience in probabilistic ML, accelerated computing, embedded systems, and signal theory, and growing your career in the areas that interest you. You’ll fit in if you want to come to work for the problem itself and don’t want to choose between technical rigor, business value, and real-world impact. We work with high ownership and trust, and we do it together in the office 5 days/week.
As our Employee Engagement and Office Manager, you’ll own curating a best-in-class employee experience, and owning making our workspace a place where folks are wildly productive and excited to be 5 days a week. You’ll play a key role in keeping our people and operations efficient, reliable, and delightful in a way that accelerates our progress to business goals.
This role is perfect for someone who’s detail-oriented, resourceful, and knows what people need to do their best work before they do - and holds creating automagical experiences and operations that eliminate friction and feel invisible as their highest bar. You’ll collaborate closely with our COO, Executive Assistant, and People and Talent lead to serve as our go-to curator of the employee experience, and owner of our office and testing spaces.
Employee Experience
Be our first-line curator of the Distributed Spectrum employee experience.
Identify the rituals, meals, tools, support, and space folks need to thrive - often before they realize or can articulate what they need. You are high-EQ and high-IQ, and can spot not only problems, but opportunities to unblock and unleash folks to do better, more connected work.
You will be responsible for all team events, offsites, testing days, and our lunch benefit
You'll curate our culture and rituals with our Talent and People Lead, ensuring our culture remains sticky and retentive as we scale significantly
Office Operations
Manage day-to-day operations of our NYC office, ensuring it’s organized, tidy, and optimized for productivity for a wide variety of needs (heads-down software coding to hands-on mechanical engineering to testing at field locations).
Oversee physical and collaborative onboarding for new hires — curating the right workspace and support for each hire on their first day.
Lead space planning - constantly evaluating if we've optimized our space as we grow and mature our product, and identifying when additional space or different use of space is required.
Guide our free-lunch and office kitchen program, ensuring folks have the food and beverage that lets them keep their focus on work, within budget
Own incoming and outgoing mail and shipping logistics
Build strong relationships with building management and resolve facility issues quickly
Track office vendors (cleaning, deliveries, maintenance) and ensure timely service
Support offsite logistics, and testing days, including rental vehicles, load-in and load-out
Manage supplies and tool requests; monitor and replenish essentials proactively
Own employee health and safety protocols for the office and field, ensuring we're compliant with worker's compensation requirements, but more importantly provide a productive and safe workspace as we pioneer building a physical product.
A love of organization and precision, you notice every detail and chase ways to optimize them.
High EQ and a desire to serve and enable others. You know what each person needs to succeed, and find a way to enable it within budget, time, and space constraints.
You enjoy the dash of chaos that comes with early stage, scaling companies, and thrive juggling multiple projects and balancing competing priorities
Exceptional written and verbal communication, with the ability to provide regular status updates and close all loops with leaders, team, and vendors/landlord.
A sense of ownership and pride in frictionless, magical, and 'invisible' operations.
Willingness to handle both the glamorous and unglamorous operational work with care and enthusiasm
