THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are currently looking for an Employee Communications and Engagement Specialist to join our team. The individual will work collaboratively with the Director of Human Resources to develop the internal communications and citywide employee engagement strategy; ensure consistent messaging that is aligned with the mission, values, and vision of the city and the Mayor’s Office; develop, edit and deliver internal communications on behalf of the Department of Human Resources; utilize design tools to create compelling content for print, digital, and real-time communications; develop and implement communications and change management plans to support new initiatives, programs or projects; and recommend innovative ways to engage employees with a focus on improving organizational culture and employee engagement.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:

The successful candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Considerable knowledge of social media channels and performance analytics.
  • Ability to write, plan, compose, and edit documents for publication.
  • Ability to collaborate across a large organization.
  • Experience with design for print and electronic media.


Under general direction, is responsible for developing, planning, implementing, and promoting programs designed to enhance the opportunities and services available to City employees and/or residents in order to advance the objectives of the Department of Human Resources; performs related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a bachelor's degree and three (3) years of professional experience in human resources related programs such as employee relations, equal opportunity, recruitment, training, corporate/government communications, employee engagement, or other closely related program.  Substitution(s):  A master’s degree may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.


Possession of a valid driver’s license.


OR


Possession of a State of Ohio license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) or Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) and five (5) years of experience performing physical or occupational therapy, administering equal opportunity or accessibility related programming, providing rehabilitation services, or other closely related service.


Possession of a valid driver’s license.
