Recognized as a Great Place to Work, Bunzl North America is seeking a seasoned preferred Human Resources leader to serve as the Division HR Director for our Safety Division. This role will oversee HR operations across multiple sites across United States with major hubs in Tennessee, California, and Mexico, ensuring compliance, driving employee engagement, and supporting leadership development. The ideal candidate will be comfortable navigating cross-cultural environments.
This role is hybrid 3 days a week in the office in Collierville | 2 days remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a strategic HR partner to division leadership, providing guidance on employee relations, talent development, and organizational effectiveness.
- Lead HR initiatives across U.S. and Mexico locations, ensuring alignment with company policies and local labor laws.
- Coach and advise managers on performance management, employee engagement, and leadership development.
- Investigate and resolve employee relations issues, partnering with corporate HR on escalated matters.
- Partners with Talent Development to shape strategy and priorities, providing insight, recommendations and organizational perspective to ensure programs align with business needs and workforce capability goals.
- Administer compensation and performance evaluation programs across the organization
- Lead change management and organizational development initiatives that support growth, transformation, or restructuring.
- Manage HR team members and coordinate Workers’ Compensation efforts with site leadership.
- Develops and executes compliance initiatives in response to evolving laws and regulatory requirements
- Manage HRârelated risk, including compliance, investigations, and policy enforcement.
- Support executive-level recruiting
- Travel to Mexico to support HR operations and build strong relationships with local teams.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including multi-site and cross-border HR
- Strong knowledge of US and Mexican labor laws and HR practices.
- Proven ability to influence and coach leaders at all levels
- Experience in employee relations, talent development, and organizational effectiveness
- Ability to travel up to 30%, including visits to Mexico
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in HR or related
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR
- Experience in safety-related industries or manufacturing
- Prior experience managing HR in Mexico or Latin America
