Overview
The Director of People Operations will be a critical leverage point for the Chief People Officer (CPO) and will be a key leader in the People team. They will be responsible for architecting, implementing and scaling the company's core people systems and processes. This role owns the annual People Operations operating rhythm and is accountable for ensuring operational excellence at scale, driving measurable improvements across the employee lifecycle.
Description
The Director of People Operations is a hands-on builder who designs and owns the delivery of the People Operations infrastructure to support BBG's growth. This role translates strategic direction from the CPO into scalable, repeatable systems across the employee lifecycle. Operating with high autonomy, this leader builds processes that work, establishes operational rhythm and ensures People Operations is disciplined, data-driven and execution focused.
What You Will Own
Lifecycle & Process Architecture - turning strategy into working, measurable systems
· Design and implement scalable onboarding (pre-boarding through 90 day ramp)
· Build and operationalize performance management frameworks and workflows
· Establish offboarding and exit insights process
· Develop compliant employee relations workflows and documentation standards
· Create manager toolkits and enablement resources
Operational Leadership & Infrastructure - ensure the People Operations function runs cleanly and predictably
· Lead day-to-day People Operations execution
· Lead and develop People Operations team members, including direct supervision of an HR Generalist
· Build and maintain SOPs for core HR processes
· Establish and publish annual HR process execution calendar
· Own administration of the annual performance, compensation and workforce planning and engagement survey cycles.
· Lead benefits administration and annual enrollment strategy, including vendor selection
Technology, Metrics & Continuous Optimization - create infrastructure that scales and improves over time
· Conduct a comprehensive assessment of current People Operations processes, systems and data, and establish a prioritized optimization roadmap.
· Own HRIS configuration and workflow optimization
· Define and produce KPIs and dashboards, in partnership with the CPO
· Determine data and reporting cadence - what's done monthly, quarterly, annually
· Leverage AI tools to Improve documentation, reporting and operational efficiency
Qualifications
· 8+ years in progressive HR/People Operations roles.
· Ability to motivate, lead and develop more junior team members.
· Demonstrated track record designing, implementing and scaling HR programs from inception through adoption.
· Tech-forward, proactively identifying and implementing AI enabled solutions to modernize documentation, reporting, analytics and workflow automation.
· Strong knowledge of multi-state employment law and compliance.
· Experience operating in professional services, multi-state, growth stage environment.
· Experience owning HRIS systems and optimizing workflows(Paylocity preferred).
· Analytical skills and leadership capabilities.
· Excellent customer relationship skills to work effectively with BBG leaders and employees.
· Ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and solve problems proactively.
