Job Description:

As the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for our manufacturing plant, you will lead the HR, Industrial Relations (IR), and Legal functions, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations while driving strategic HR initiatives. You will report directly to the CEO or Plant Manager and collaborate closely with senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic HR Leadership:
    • Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with the manufacturing plant’s business objectives and local market dynamics.
    • Drive talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies to support business growth.
  2. Industrial Relations (IR):
    • Manage relationships with unions, employee councils, and regulatory bodies.
    • Lead negotiations for wage agreements, settlements, and manage industrial disputes effectively.
  3. Legal Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all Indian labor laws, regulations, and statutory requirements.
    • Advise management on legal implications and risks related to employment and labor relations.
  4. Employee Relations:
    • Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and conflict resolution strategies.
    • Implement employee engagement initiatives and programs to enhance morale and productivity.
  5. HR Operations and Systems:
    • Oversee HR operations including payroll, benefits administration, and HRIS management.
    • Implement and optimize HR systems to streamline processes and ensure data accuracy and security.
  6. Training and Development:
    • Develop training programs to enhance employee skills, safety awareness, and regulatory compliance.
    • Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development across the organization.
  7. Compensation and Benefits:
    • Design and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain talent.
    • Conduct periodic reviews and analysis to ensure pay equity and market competitiveness.
  8. Performance Management:
    • Implement performance management systems to assess and improve employee performance.
    • Provide guidance and support to managers on performance evaluation and career development.
  9. HR Analytics and Reporting:
    • Utilize HR data analytics to drive insights and make data-driven decisions.
    • Prepare and present HR metrics, trends, and reports to senior management.
