As part of our growing People Operations team, we are looking for a Compliance – Assistant Manager to strengthen our statutory and HR compliance function in partnership with our external compliance vendor.
The Assistant Manager – People Operations will be responsible for driving end-to-end HR operations, including payroll, employee lifecycle management, HR systems administration, compliance, audits, HR analytics, and employee experience. The ideal candidate will have strong operational expertise, hands-on experience with PeopleStrong HRMS, and the ability to derive actionable insights from HR data to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
1. HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle
• Manage the complete employee lifecycle: onboarding, confirmation, transfers, increments, separations, and full & final settlements.
• Ensure timely and accurate Full & Final (F&F) settlements for exiting employees.
• Coordinate employee documentation, HR letters, and joining formalities.
• Execute exit processes including exit interviews, clearance, and documentation.
2. Payroll Management
• Coordinate end-to-end monthly payroll inputs, validations, and processing.
• Prepare and validate salary inputs, including new joiners, exits, revisions, and variable payouts.
• Manage salary structures, CTC breakup, reimbursements, and benefits.
• Perform monthly payroll reconciliations across all salary components to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare monthly payroll variance reports and other MIS reports for strategic decision-making.
• Validate statutory deductions (PF, ESIC, PT, LWF) and resolve payroll discrepancies.
3. HRMS & Data Management
• Strong hands-on experience with PeopleStrong HRMS (Must have).
• Maintain employee master data, dashboards, and MIS reports.
• Ensure accuracy of HR analytics, attendance, and leave records.
• Leverage HRMS and other tools to streamline processes and improve data accuracy.
• Hands-on experience in HR data analytics to generate insights and reports on cost, attrition, absenteeism, and other key HR metrics to support strategic decision-making and improvements.
4. Compliance, Audit & Statutory Management
• Ensure adherence to all statutory & labour law requirements (PF, ESIC, PT, Shops & Establishment, Gratuity, etc.).
• Support internal and external audits by preparing data, resolving audit queries, and ensuring compliance readiness.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders for timely filings and audit closures.
5. Employee Grievance Handling & Engagement
• Act as a point of contact for employee queries on HR policies, payroll, and benefits.
• Address grievances with sensitivity and ensure timely resolution.
• Support engagement activities and culture-building initiatives.
6. Policy & Process Development
• Contribute to formulation and updation of HR policies and SOPs.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and enhance operational efficiency.
• Drive process standardization and automation initiatives wherever possible.
Skills & Competencies Required
• Mandatory: Hands-on experience with PeopleStrong HRMS.
• Strong knowledge of payroll operations, reconciliations, and statutory compliances.
• Experience in handling audits and payroll reporting.
• Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience in HR data analytics, reporting, and interpretation of key metrics (cost, attrition, absenteeism, etc.).
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and ownership.
Desired Candidate Profile
• 4–8 years of experience in HR/People Operations.
• MBA in Human Resources from a recognized institution.
• Immediate joiners are highly preferred.c
