Job Description:

About the Role

We’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented HR professional to join our People Operations & Analytics team, contributing to our One Hitachi vision in driving integrated, data-driven workforce strategies across businesses and geographies. You’ll own the delivery of high-quality, scalable people operations for our Singapore office and regional teams — combining operational rigour with a strong focus on employee experience, compliance and workforce insights.

Working closely with HR Centres of Excellence, HR Business Partners, business leaders and external vendors, you’ll simplify processes, strengthen controls, and apply digital and AI-enabled tools to increase efficiency and organisational impact. The incumbent will enable True One Hitachi collaboration, ensuring consistency, transparency, and alignment in people practices across the region. This is a hands-on role with genuine breadth, real ownership and room to grow. Candidates with more relevant years of experience may be considered for the Manager level.

What We Value

Beyond the technical requirements, we’re looking for someone who:

  • Takes real ownership — you follow through end-to-end, hold yourself to a high standard and treat problems as your own to solve.
  • Moves with purpose — you balance speed with sound judgement, make well-reasoned decisions without waiting for perfect information and know when to escalate.
  • Thinks critically and goes deep — you ask the right questions, challenge assumptions constructively and bring genuine curiosity to complex or ambiguous situations.
  • Collaborates and builds — you work well across functions and levels, bring people along and turn ideas into practical, well-executed outcomes.
  • Uses technology as a tool — you’re comfortable using digital and AI-enabled solutions to work smarter and you apply them with good judgement and appropriate oversight.
  • Is motivated by impact — you want to contribute to something meaningful, grow in a high-standards environment and make the people function genuinely better.

Key Responsibilities

  • People Operations: Deliver accurate, timely people operations across the employee lifecycle, ensuring a seamless experience for employees and managers against defined service standards.
  • HR Systems & Enablement: Drive data accuracy, system adoption and service consistency through effective Workday transaction management and clear, accessible self-service content.
  • Employee Experience & Insights: Provide responsive HR support, reduce friction at key touchpoints and turn feedback and operational trends into tangible service improvements.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure people operations are compliant, well-governed and audit-ready — aligned with employment legislation, internal policy and data privacy requirements. Serve as the Centre of Excellence for Employee Relations.
  • Expatriate & Mobility Management: Manage immigration, work pass, relocation, housing and vendor coordination to deliver a smooth and compliant mobility experience.
  • Process Excellence & AI: Simplify workflows, strengthen SOPs and support the responsible adoption of digital and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and user experience.
  • Workforce Insights: Generate actionable workforce analytics — reports, dashboards, trend analysis — that support better planning and decision-making.
  • Vendor Management: Manage external HR service partners against SLAs and performance standards, driving reliable delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Regional Partnership: Support regional HR initiatives and organisational change by partnering across HR and business teams to deliver practical, scalable people solutions.

What You Bring

  • Experience: Degree in Human Resources or a related field, with at least 6 years’ experience in HR operations, shared services, or people operations — including end-to-end lifecycle ownership in Singapore. IHRP or SHRM certification is a plus.
  • Regional Exposure: Experience in a multi-country or regional environment, ideally within a regional headquarters or MNC, is an advantage.
  • HR Systems: Strong hands-on Workday experience — transactions, data management, end-user support, and HRIS partnership on enhancements and releases.
  • Compliance: Strong working knowledge of Singapore employment law and ER practice is essential. You’ll need to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into sound, compliant guidance and processes.
  • Mobility: Proven experience managing work passes, expatriate administration, relocation, housing, and vendor coordination for tax reporting.
  • Process Improvement: A track record of streamlining HR operations, improving SOPs and building efficient, audit-ready processes. Experience with automation or workflow solutions is a plus.
  • Analytics: Strong ability to interpret HR data, build dashboards and communicate insights clearly. Advanced Excel required; Power BI or similar tools is an advantage.
  • Digital Fluency: Comfortable applying digital and AI-enabled tools to improve service delivery and reporting — with sound judgement and human oversight throughout.
  • Vendor Management: Experience managing outsourced HR providers through effective governance and SLA management.
  • Core Strengths: Attention to detail, ownership, sound judgement, discretion, adaptability, the ability to manage competing priorities and strong stakeholder communication.
