GateSource HR is partnering with a client in the agricultural industry to recruit a skilled and experienced Blueberry Agronomist. We are seeking a dedicated Blueberry Agronomist with a proven track record of over 10 years managing blueberry crops across diverse regions. The successful candidate will possess deep expertise in fertigation strategies, pesticide application, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), and plant disease control. Keeping pace with industry research and technological advancements is crucial for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Crop Management: Manage the cultivation and production of Northern Highbush blueberries to achieve optimal growth and yields.
Fertigation Programs: Design and implement tailored fertigation plans that align with soil conditions and crop nutritional needs, ensuring nutrient balance and mitigating salinity concerns.
Pest & Disease Control: Identify, monitor, and manage pests and diseases using IPM strategies, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
Research & Innovation: Stay updated with industry advancements and integrate innovative practices to enhance crop quality, resistance, and sustainability.
Field Operations: Oversee critical activities such as pruning, planting schedules, irrigation management, and harvesting processes to boost productivity.
Training & Leadership: Provide guidance and training to farm teams on best practices in blueberry agronomy to ensure consistent application of industry standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of practical experience managing Northern Highbush blueberries in various international environments.
Strong expertise in fertigation systems, pesticide application methods, and IPM strategies.
Solid understanding of soil health, plant nutrition, and disease prevention specific to blueberries.
Experience with certifications like Global GAP is advantageous.
