About the Role
We're looking for a Part Time (0.8 FTE) Aboriginal Engagement Coordinator Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Identified Position join our Foster Care team based at dual sites of Kent Town and Oaklands Park.
We are looking for a passionate and culturally connected Aboriginal Engagement Coordinator to join our team and help strengthen relationships with Aboriginal individuals, families and communities. Your Key Responsibilities:
- Support children to express their views and participate in decisions about their care and cultural connection
- Coordinate the development, planning and delivery of carer connection groups and support groups for carers of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children.
- Coordinate opportunities for carers to participate in Aboriginal cultural learning and engagement activities.
- Work alongside foster carers to strengthen culturally safe care, supporting shared understanding and continuous learning.

What You’ll Need to Succeed
Essential Criteria
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Community Services or related field.
- Excellent skills in community engagement and demonstrated knowledge of the diversity of Aboriginal communities.
- Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal children, families, and communities.
- Understanding of child protection legislation and the Aboriginal Child Placement Principle.
