 About the Role

LNG Canada is inviting post-secondary students to join our Student Experience Program. This is your chance to gain hands-on experience at a world-class LNG facility, apply your academic learning to real projects, and develop skills that support your professional growth.

 To be successful, you are/have:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary education program within one of the following disciplines: Engineering, Business, Administration, Environmental Sciences, Information Technology/Computer Programming or similar programs. 
  • Returning to school and have not yet graduated.
  • Eager to learn, contribute, and grow in a dynamic environment
  • Skilled in working with computers including excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including working in Excel with large amount of data and attention to detail  
  • An easy, open and inquisitive attitude with an ability to shift priorities, work under pressure and manage multiple projects 
  • Excellent with written and verbal communication along with being a team player approach with a positive attitude 
  • A key interest in advancing best practices and utilizing leading edge technology 
  • A curious and flexible mindset, with the ability to adapt quickly to the requirements of the role
  • A valid BC Class 5 driver’s license is considered an asset  

 

This role requires that you:  

  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit)  
  • Work a 40-hour week: 8 hrs/5 days per week. Some flexibility may be required. 
  • Have the ability to work and live in the beautiful District of Stikine (Kitimat/Terrace). (Accommodations are not provided)
  • Are willing to comply with LNGC’s drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Undergo Pre-Site Access testing for alcohol and specified drugs.
  • (Summer) Work placements will begin in May 2025 for approximately 4 months; We are open to students enrolled in Co-Operative Education Programs where student availability may differ (e.g. 4, 8, 12-month terms). 
  • Know that this is NOT a fly-in, fly-out rotation role.

As the largest private-sector investment in Canadian history, LNG Canada is a long-life asset with a 40-year export license. Phase 1 includes two processing units (“trains”) with a combined capacity of 14 million tonnes per annum (mtpa).
