We’re seeking a dynamic Director of Human Resources to lead critical HR functions that power our mission, people, and culture.

Position Summary

The Director of Human Resources serves as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to the CEO, executive leadership team, and community administrators. This role provides leadership across all HR operations, including talent acquisition, workforce development, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, training, and organizational culture.

As a key member of the leadership team, the HR Director will champion employee engagement, drive organizational effectiveness, and ensure the HR function supports the long-term success of our multi-site senior living communities.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Culture

  • Partner with senior leadership to align HR strategy with organizational goals, workforce needs, and long-term growth.

  • Lead initiatives that strengthen culture, improve employee engagement, and support retention.

  • Drive organizational change through effective communication, collaboration, and people-centered leadership.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Development

  • Design and execute innovative recruiting and talent management strategies to attract high-quality candidates.

  • Oversee onboarding, workforce planning, leadership development, and staff training programs.

  • Guide HR staff and managers through coaching, compliance training, and professional development.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Lead all HR programs including compensation, benefits, leave administration, employee relations, investigations, performance management, training, and health/safety.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; update policies accordingly.

  • Monitor HR metrics, analyze workforce trends, and recommend data-driven solutions.

Employee Experience & Engagement

  • Promote recognition programs, career development pathways, and morale-building initiatives.

  • Build and support DEI efforts that align with mission and organizational values.

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to enhance the overall employee experience.

Vendor, Budget & Technology Management

  • Work with benefits vendors to optimize offerings and increase employee utilization.

  • Develop, manage, and monitor the HR department budget.

  • Oversee HRIS and talent management systems, ensuring accuracy and effective use of technology.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.

  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s preferred.

  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, ideally in healthcare, senior living, or multi-site operations.

  • Minimum 5 years in a management or director-level HR role.

  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR) preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week, with occasional evening or weekend responsibilities based on organizational needs.

  • Regular travel required between Wesley Woods communities; reliable transportation is essential.
