The Human Resources Director serves as a strategic partner to the executive team, championing people, culture, and organizational development initiatives. This role will help us to continue to shape our culture, drive team member development, and align workforce initiatives with our mission to improve animal performance and well-being through science-backed protein technologies.

JOB DUTIES:

People, Culture & Organizational Development

  • Design and implement core people practices (recruitment, onboarding, succession planning).
  • Drive performance review processes, goal-setting frameworks, and career development pathways.
  • Maintain a pulse on team member morale and engagement, continuously identifying opportunities to create an engaged workforce and better connect with all employees throughout the entire employee lifecycle. 
  • Lead employee engagement survey initiatives and feedback cycles (e.g. surveys, pulse checks, stay interviews).
  • Develop and communicate clear role definitions, org charts, and reporting lines to ensure clarity and alignment.
  • Coach managers on team development, feedback, and conflict resolution.
  • Oversee training and development programs that build capability and readiness at all organizational levels.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to HR professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and high performance.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Leverage people analytics and HR metrics (turnover, engagement, talent pipeline) to inform and guide leadership decisions.
  • Oversee team member lifecycle processes (hiring, terminations, contracts).  Assist with international hiring or contract consultants for the U.S. executive team.
  • Execute appropriate competitive compensation that maintains fairness and supports retention, performance and alignment with our values.
  • Provide consulting to leaders on compliance with U.S. labor laws. 
  • Partner with the company’s shared service human resources team to ensure HR systems and tools (e.g., HRIS, performance management tools) meet current and future company needs.

Strategic Partner to the Executive Team

  • Act as a thought partner on organizational design, headcount planning, and workforce strategy.
  • Assume a role in leading change management initiatives to support the company’s continued growth, scalability, and evolving business priorities.
  • Help shape aligned internal people-related communications across regions.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills
  • Ability to build trust and influence at all levels of the organization
  • Hands-on approach with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Track record of scaling teams and supporting leaders during growth and change
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
  • Experience with HRIS or HCM systems and tools (e.g., Workday)
  • Ability to manage and maintain confidential information
  • Ability to travel up to 20%

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field (master’s degree a plus)
  • Minimum seven years of progressive HR leadership experience, ideally in manufacturing
  • Knowledge of current laws and regulations such as EEOC, FLSA and ADA required, with the ability to communicate the requirements effectively and lead compliance
  • Expertise in all core HR areas: strategy, talent management and acquisition, performance management, learning and development, employee engagement, total rewards, and compliance.
  • Proficient in MS Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams
  • Workday experience preferred but not required
  • SHRM (SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) or HRCI (PHR/SPHR) certification preferred
