Job Function: Oversees that strategic and day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department (HR). Facilitates positive employee relations and effective internal communication among leadership and staff. Performs administrative tasks including recording and analyzing employment data and employee skillsets. This position reports to the Chief People Officer (CPO) of an Administrative Services Organization (ASO) and provides direct supervision to one (1) HR Assistant.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Develops and implementing HR policies and procedures that are compliant with labor laws and regulations.
  • Oversees the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of new employees.
  • Handles employee relations issues such as grievances, disciplinary proceedings, and dispute resolution.
  • Manages the human resource information system (HRIS) including ensuring timely entry of employee changes.
  • Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations as well as funder requirements.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Masters degree preferred.
  • At least two years of human resource or related experience required.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Special Working Conditions:

  • Work may occasionally include long or irregular hours (e.g. investigation).
