Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Group Human Resources and People Experience team in the capacity of:

 

 

 

 HEART Trainee –

Group Human Resources &

People Experience (Contract)

(Grade 2)

 

 

Participate in the day-to-day processes within the People Business Partner Unit.

 

Assist with group-wide Group Human Resources and People Experience functions, including preparing various letters for current and former team members.

 

Contribute to special projects; as well as track, analyze, and report on units undertakings

 

 

 

In partnership with HEART/NSTA TRUST, Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking candidates for the School Leavers’ Training Opportunities Programme (SLTOP) specially designed to bridge the gap between school and the world of work for recent school leavers. Our School Leavers’ Training Opportunities Programme (SLTOP) is for school leavers between the ages of 17 to 23, who have six or more CXC or GCE passes including English Language and Mathematics. In the SLTOP, trainees have the opportunity to work with Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited for up to one year, where they can fully acquaint themselves with the company’s daily operations in order to gain rich, immersive practical knowledge.

 

Location: Kingston

 

 

As HEART Trainee, you will:

 

  • Perform the duties of the Group HR & People Experience front desk.
  • Greet visitors promptly and politely.
  • Ensure mails dispatched from and received in Group HR are appropriately managed.
  • Remind team members to collect items from Group HR & People Experience.
  • Assist with updating and maintaining organization charts for all areas under the team’s portfolio.
  • Assist with the preparation of maternity and extended sick leave memos.
  • Assist with the administrative activities of the unit to ensure that productivity targets are met and service standards are properly maintained.
  • Provide assistance with the activities within the department on a daily basis to ensure that productivity targets are maintained.
  • Help with the processes and recommend and implement improvements and initiatives with a view to improving efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assist with the inflow of requests to the Group HR & People Experience Department for employment related matters.
  • Perform any other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

 

What do you need?

 

  • A minimum of six (6) subjects at the CXC (General Proficiency) or GCE (Ordinary) level, including English Language and Mathematics (or a numeric subject).
  • Sound knowledge of computer software packages including spreadsheet and word processing applications.
  • Excellent attitude to client service and teamwork.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrable persuasiveness, empathy and tact.
  • Basic knowledge of Human Resources Operations.
  • Effective communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Good time management and human relations skills.
  • Ability to type.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
